There are concerns about transparency, cost, and data consumption rates; what is Lycamobile doing to address this?
LycaMobile provides online user account access so that customers can check their usage and allowances in real-time. Also, our Customer Care Center is available for any support required.
With regards to the rates, we have publicized them on our website and other social media platforms. In addition, online account access also provides data consumption details with precise dates and times to provide transparent information to our customers.
What is the difference between 3G, 4G and 5G?
These refer to generations of Mobile networks. The latter generations offer faster connection speeds and more reliable with lower response times and greater capacity than the older networks. These developments result from technological advancements in using the finite Radio Spectrum resources more efficiently. They have enabled customers to experience seamless video streaming, high-speed data and access to content from various parts of the world faster at their fingertips.
During this pandemic, we have taken great advantage of these technologies in providing various services like Education and e-Commerce etc., to support our communities. Moreover, 4G and 5G technologies also offer new opportunities to our youth in career building.
Some Lycamobile plans include ‘unlimited’ calls or texts provided as part of the service; what does ‘unlimited’ mean?
Yes, many of our Data bundles come with ‘Unlimited’ On-Net Calls and Text. Unlimited means customers can make as many On-Net calls and texts as they wish within this bundle period. For example, suppose you subscribe to a 20GB Data bundle with 30 days validity. In that case, it will allow you to have 20GB of Data with unlimited On-Net calls and texts within LycaMobile Global Network covering 20+ countries.
How does Lycamobile provide access to redress for non-English speaking customers across the country?
We have multi-lingual Customer Care Agents who can support our customers in English, Swahili, Luganda, Runyakitara, Luo and Ateso. We plan to serve our customers in more languages in future.
